DAY 100~12/23/21

The team is growing larger. We were graced with Trey Dold‘s arrival last night. I didn’t see him until lunch today and was so happy to see him. All of us are so grateful he’s here with his support and love!

Joan and I walked a total of 14.7 miles today. Greg and Trey joined us for the afternoon segment of 3.7 miles. We were an awesome foursome!

The sheriff was not there to meet us this morning nor was the deputy. However after about 6 miles into our route this morning the deputy pulled up beside us and asked how we were doing. That was very sweet. He did tell us the sheriff wanted to come meet us this morning but they pulled over a van and 20 migrants jumped out of it and just scattered. They had their hands full.

An older man stopped in a white truck. He asked if we needed a ride. I told him we were on a pilgrimage walk and we started from Wisconsin. He said Wisconsin, what the hell you doing that for? I told him the story and he said I’ve never met a nuttier pair of women. I knew right then that I could have fun and joke around with him! Then he asked if we were sure we didn’t want a ride just a little ways up the road. I said no that that would be cheating. He said I don’t give a shit. His music was playing so I said I like your music. He said I like the good ones like Merle Haggard and George Jones. I added Charley Pride. He said no I don’t like that black guy. And not because he’s colored. He can’t sing. Then he went into his shirt pocket and pulled out some money. I thought he was going to give us a donation but instead he wanted to give us a piece of paper with his name and address on it. But instead of giving it to us he asked me if I had something to write it down with. I took a picture of it, and him instead. His name was Woody. He then said I know you’re not married because no man would put up with your shit. He was something else!! What a trip!

We went back to Edna for lunch and ate at Crazy Wings and More. Dad is with us based on the sign we saw in the restaurant.

I was so tired last night that I forgot to post the published CNN Article that came out yesterday. Many of you might have seen it already with my friends and families social media posts. But just in case,the link is below. I am humbled beyond words.

We all went out to eat together tonight at, you won’t believe it, yup the same spot Greek Bros. It was live music again tonight and we really loved the food and atmosphere. We had a great time!
