DAY 64 ~ 11/17/21

Joan and I walked a total of 15.2 miles today, all on AR 67. We saw two highway signs calling it the highway of hope. I couldn’t figure out why, so I looked it up and here is what I found: “The route along U.S. 67 and State 7 between Hope and Hot Springs regularly traveled by the Honorable Bill Clinton, 42nd President of the United States, during his childhood, is hereby designated ‘The Highway of Hope’". Very interesting! Love the name!!

We were so excited when we saw a green “miles to” Texarkana sign and it was only 65 miles! We are getting closer. Woah.

Just north of Gurdon, we passed a huge wood production plant called Georgia Pacific Wood Products We were wondering why we were seeing so many semi trucks carrying cut down trees. Had to be at least 50 that passed us in both directions, some full, some empty. Now we know why!!!!

When we got back to the RV park, the kitchen slide out didn’t operate. Clarence spent the afternoon on the phone with support, and using our RV tool kit (thanks again Craig Antonson for recommending we buy this!!) to check this and that out for the technician on the phone. After all of that, we were told it has to go into a dealer who does warranty service work. Dang. We do move to Texarkana tomorrow we might have it looked at or just live with it as is until it comes back home in January. We depend on the RV for all of our transportation, as well as our home base, so it can’t be in the shop very long!! Maybe it will work tomorrow? We do move so let’s cross our fingers 😉
