DAY 97 ~ 12/20/21
Joan and I walked 15.2 miles today. Most of it was on a busy four-lane divided highway. We started off in the town of East Bernard. That was where we saw the only animals and they were cute calves all turning around to look at us so snapped the pic.
A sheriff with his lights flashing pulled over to the shoulder we were walking on right in front of us. I jokingly walked into the car and said oh a roadblock as he was getting out of his car. He said yes just wondering if you two are OK. We said yes and explained the purpose of our walk and he says all right you guys be careful and safe travels.
This afternoon brought a reunion after nearly 6 weeks apart. Words can’t even express how great it was to see Paige, and Ruben too!
We ate at the Whiskey Cake restaurant again tonight, the same one Greg and I enjoyed several nights ago. We celebrated Joan‘s birthday. I thought their whiskey cake, which is just like sticky toffee pudding you’d find in the UK, would be a perfect birthday cake. Joan and Clarence absolutely loved it! And so did the rest of us! It was a very fun evening!
