DAY 48 ~ 11/1/21

We got started walking at 8:15 this morning, which is a bit earlier today because I need to work more hours the first week of the month. It was 43° when we started. Just a bit nip, but after a few brief minutes the heart rate kicked in and we warmed up no problem.

Divine intervention has answered my prayers or pleas or whining depending on who’s listening. Joan and I had an absolutely flat road with no slope for the entire day!!! And at our stopping point, whenI looked to the horizon straight ahead, it was still flat. When I looked to the left all the way to the horizon, it was flat. When I looked to the right at the horizon it was flat! Hallelujah, there is a Jesus, a divine spirit, a Buddha, a guardian angel, a gift from the stars . :) Even if it was all of those things, I am so grateful!!! It was the easiest 16.1 miles in a long time!!!

We also decided to break today’s miles into three segments instead of just two. We had a lunch break and then an afternoon cookie break! That helped as well!!

We walked through Pocahontas at the beginning of the day and ended walking through Walnut Ridge. In between we were on US 67 South the entire day.

We did not have one interaction with anyone today, even animals. We only saw a few cats in a yard and one dog that only yapped, but that was at the very end of the day. I guess I was meant to have a break from that too!!

We moved to a new RV park today, Almost Home in Walnut Ridge. It’s right off the highway with little to no scenery. This is my least favorite so far. From the time we got back at 3:30, I worked until 8 PM. Joan and Clarence made a yummy dinner (grilled pork tenderloin and potatoes with veggies.) I’m so grateful for them!!

Grateful: It’s the word of the day!!
