DAY 32 ~ 10/16/21

Joan and I walked 15.3 miles today, 10 before lunch and 5.3 after. We walked on a trail for a little bit then mostly on IL 157. A good chunk of the day was spent walking through Edwardsville Illinois, which is actually the first initial north/eastern suburb of St. Louis on the IL side!

It was a beautiful sunny day with cool temps in the mid 60’s. An absolutely perfect walking day.

Might be the first day on the journey we did not actually make contact with anyone. We settled for the waves that came from inside cars today.

My 93 year old dad called again today with a bunch more ideas. He is so awesome. Too many to mention here, but they are excellent things to pursue, and I will definitely be doing so. If any get implemented, I’ll share them and include that it was his idea. Oh and as a follow up to one of his ideas, we did reach out to Brooks shoes and this was their response: “Unfortunately at this time we are unable to pursue sponsorship or donations due to existing commitments and limited resources.” It was worth a shot!!!

Clarence grilled salmon just perfectly tonight. Joan did the veggies and potatoes. I’m so grateful for them!!

I realized last night before falling asleep that I forgot to post the news coverage link from Springfield. Sorry this is a day late, but here’s the story link:
