DAY 54 ~ 11/7/21
We walked a total of 16.4 miles today, most of which was on AR 367 South again. Paige played SAG wagon again today. It is so fun and wonderful seeing her at the end of our segments! We went to a deli for lunch and had the biggest baked potatoes I’ve ever seen in my life!
Joan and I stopped at a gas station in Judsonia and I was waiting for Joan to come out, sitting on a bench outside. A gentle soul, had to be in his late 80s or early 90s, stopped and asked me if it was cold enough for me. A teasing smile crossed his face. He was very hard to understand but I guessed right and said it’s not too bad the suns out. He said you got that right, smiled again and walked on. It’s these little interactions and connections that make this trip so special!
Paige and I had a wonderful afternoon just hanging out in the hotel together. We had leftovers for dinner. It’s going to be very hard to say goodbye to her tomorrow. It will be a six week stretch before I see her again on Christmas Eve.
