DAY 60 ~ 11/13/21

Joan and I walked the morning session by ourselves clocking in 8.3 miles. We crossed the beautiful Saline River. The hills are back!! Not as bad as Missouri but they’re pretty good sized! The colors are absolutely gorgeous!! Jessica and Clarence picked us up for lunch taking us to Sonic. Then Jessica joined us for the afternoon session. Joan and Jessica did 4 miles and I did an additional mile for a total of 13.3. Met a few dogs, even one missing one front leg. That didn’t slow him down at all!

A nice gentleman slowed down in his SUV and asked if we were OK. He didn’t quite stop but he slowed down enough to listen to our answer. He put a thumbs up and said all right and moved on.

A woman with her granddaughter stopped on AR 67 in an old red cheverlet truck. Her name was Donna. She asked “Are you guys walking somewhere?” We told her the story: “I thought so because I saw you walkin by the interstate yesterday. The Lord told me to turn around when I saw you again today. Can I take your picture, I’d like to post you on Facebook!” She got out of her truck and took a picture and then asked if she could say a prayer for us. We got in a circle right there on the shoulder of the highway and joined hands while she prayed. Such kind words and asking for our safe arrival.

We went to Hot Springs Arkansas. It was a wonderful hustling bustling tourist town, surrounded by Hot Springs National Park!! We went to Superior Bathhouse Brewery, the only brewery in a National Park and in the world to use thermal spring water in their beer. Jessica has a really good friend who knows the manager there. I had a flight of beer samples and some awesome chicken wings. So much fun!!!

Clarence moved the RV this morning to our new spot called Caddo Valley RV Park in Arkadelphia, AR while Jessica played sag wagon bringing Joan and I to our starting point. She needed to then go pick up Clarence at the new park to come back to us for lunch. That’s a lot of driving miles!! She thought she’d have some time to kill but she said it flew by. When we got back to the RV tonight, I noticed it was cleaner, and sure enough the sweetheart swept, did the dishes, and shook out the rugs! I’m so glad to now know her. It’s been wonderful! She flys home tomorrow night so will walk with us one more day. Yay!!!
