DAY 90 ~ 12/13/21

It is with absolute heartbreak and utter sadness that I write about the passing of my 93-year-old father last night. He died of a sudden heart attack. I was so blessed to be with Joan & Clarence this morning when I found out the news. What an amazing safe and soft place to fall with their love and warm embraces.

I know he would not want me to stop this walking journey because of his death as he was so proud of me for doing it in honor of his first love, his first wife, and my mother. So I strapped up the laces of my shoes after several hours of crying and walked in his honor today. Somber steps, but absolutely every step (14.2 miles) was taken to honor the life of Orville Eugene Hesch. He was such an amazing man.

He may have been short in stature, but like the tallest of trees in the forest he was large in inner beauty, strong in character and stood above the rest when it came to loving warm heartedness. His favorite word was kindness.

The only 2 pictures I took today were for him: The tallest tree I could find and a message from a ranch entrance.

My twin brother Greg came from Austin this afternoon to Magnolia TX (we moved RV Parks today) so we could be together. So grateful he is so close to my walking path so that we can be together in this sad time.

I’ll leave you with the song I wrote and played for him on Father’s Day 2019. I was able to sing it to him in person with every Wisconsin resident family member, including children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, circled around him.

He will be sorely missed on this planet!!!
