DAY 50 ~ 11/3/21

Joan walked the morning 9.2 miles before lunch and took the afternoon off to rest. I walked an additional 6.6 miles after lunch for a total of 15.8 miles. Once again it was all on AR367 South, and was all flat!! The days have been big with longer mile days so I’m beat when finished. I don’t know if I could handle it if the hills were still with me!!

A state highway patrolman stopped us. He had tobacco chew in his bottom lip and said “Y’all haven’t been in an altercation or a domestic incident have you?” We said no. “You just out walking?” We told him the story. He offered no response , not even a facial expression, then said “Y’all be careful out there” and drove off.

An older fellow stopped in his smaller pick up truck and asked if I needed a ride. All the lines on his face spoke of kindness. When I respectfully declined he gave me the sweetest smile, waved and drove off.

A dog snuck up on me after lunch while walking through Tuckerman. All I felt was something at the back of my leg. It was so weird!! She was just adorable. Wanted to play and all kinds of love. Stole my heart.

I have officially crossed the 700 miles walked mark, not including days off. I am going to reach the halfway point this weekend. I simply cannot believe it!!

We moved to a new location today, Shady Oaks RV Park in Bald Knob Arkansas. It will be home base for the next 6 nights.

I worked until 7:15 this evening. Gonna make it an early night tonight as it’s a very big day tomorrow…My Paigey comes!! I can’t wait. She drove halfway today and is staying in Springfield Illinois tonight. She should be here when we finish our walking miles and get back to the RV park. Ruben is staying home with our wonderful neighbor Jan because Paige needs to attend Slumberland franchise conferences next week in Dubuque Iowa after seeing me. I won’t see Ruben until Christmas. Boohoo!!
