DAY 59 ~ 11/12/21
Jessica, Joan and I walked 15.1 miles today. We walked predominantly through cities that seemed to be suburbs south of Little Rock. It was a lot of single file walking along nice shoulders, but we did enjoy some sidewalks too. The last 4 miles was really tough. It was on the south bound (one way) frontage road of I-30. This meant that no matter what side we were walking on traffic was going in our same direction. The shoulders were okay, but man the cars coming from behind felt so close. Not very fun at all. There was an accident on I-30 so the interstate was bottlenecked and so was the frontage road eventually.
Jessica decided to keep track of all the churches we passed. It was over 15. That means there was a church at least every mile. That is unbelievable!
We ate at a local restaurant for lunch called Lost Pizza. Jessica and I shared a cauliflower crust (I’ve never had that before) with Alfredo sauce, chicken, spinach, onion and mushrooms. It was the best pizza I’ve ever had. The crust was thin and crispy which sealed the deal! So good.
One man shouted from his car “are you guys tourists?” At least I think that’s what he said. When I asked him what he said he rolled up the window and didn’t respond.
We had several conversations with people at our bathroom breaks and at lunch. It’s fun seeing the reactions when they hear we walked from Wisconsin!!
Joan made her tuna noodle casserole which is Jessica’s favorite homemade meal. How sweet is that!! I loved it this time just as much as the first time she made it!!
