DAY 94 ~ 12/17/21

I walked a total of 16.4 miles today. It was so good to see Greg’s car waiting for me at the end of the walk day. Ahhhh that feeling of getting to sit down!! I snapped a great picture of it parked with the sunset in the background.

Joan took the afternoon segment off walking a total of 12.6 miles. And Greg joined in for a total of 3.6 miles today.

All of today’s walk was spent on busy highways with lots of traffic. Got a few beeps and waves but that was it as far as interactions. There was a pretty major intersection we had to navigate through. I snapped a good picture of Joan on it.

Today brought an extra special conversation of a different kind. A journalist from CNN conducted an interview over the phone while I was walking today that will be published on their website. It will be part of their “impact the world” section. It was a wonderful interview which brought me to tears many times as I shared and answered their really great questions. The reporters said they will work on the story in the next 3 to 5 days before it’s published. I will definitely be sharing the link to the story when I get it.

We have decided to split our day off and spread it out over the next two days. The reason being is it is supposed to rain most of the day tomorrow. We wanted to go into Houston and do a hop on hop off bus and explore the city tomorrow but that’s not much fun to do when it’s raining! We’re going to walk in the morning when the chance of rain is lower, and take tomorrow afternoon as a rest day. We’ll walk Sunday morning to finish the other half of the walk route and then go into Houston after lunch when it’s supposed to be partly sunny. We will do the hop on hop off bus, have dinner and head back to the RV to take care of Bella. Eight hours is a long time for a dog. We’re pretty excited about this new plan!!

Greg and I ate at a delicious Thai restaurant called Thaicoon. We had a great time together. So grateful he is still here.
