DAY 82 ~ 12/5/21
Joan and I walked a total of 13.9 miles today. This day would rank in my top five of most beautiful and peaceful walks on the journey so far. We were on very quiet country roads the whole day with almost no traffic, and in the breathtaking beauty of the forests. Absolutely loved every minute!
My heel felt better!! I decided to use a blister bandage on it and that must’ve helped. I’ll keep trying whatever gets me to the finish line!!
Just after lunch we were walking away from the RV and were passed by a Lincoln Navigator. I didn’t notice at first but pretty soon there after the same Lincoln Navigator pulled over in the shoulder on our side and stopped. When we approached they asked “Are y’all broke down?” We said no we’re on a pilgrimage walk and explained the story. We pointed to the RV and I said that’s my mom on the back. They said yes we saw that! The woman must’ve been a mother, because when I talked about walking for my mom she was fanning her face and said “You’re gonna make me cry!” Loved meeting them both!
We ended the day on a gravel farm road all in the woods. We passed by some absolutely gorgeous homes with serene porches and gardens. One of my favorite sections of homesteads so far.
We moved the RV south again to a new RV park called Creekside RV in Crockett Texas. Very quiet. Hardly anyone here and very quiet. It’s secluded in the woods. We like it!
