DAY 98 ~ 12/21/21

Joan and I walked a total of 14.3 miles today. It was all on US 59, the same four-lane divided highway we were on yesterday. Again very busy traffic wise but it had a nice wide shoulder to walk on. There was some construction along the route and the road was finished in the middle, but was still closed off to traffic. We decided to hop into that area for a few miles. It was a nice break!

We moved RV Parks today and are now in El Campo Texas. We ate at the restaurant there for lunch called Pincher’s. It’s an adorable seafood themed restaurant. You would think you’d be on the pier at any ocean city. The food was delicious.

Paige and I were on our own for dinner tonight. It was really nice to have the alone time together! We found a really cool restaurant and music venue spot called Greek Bros. They have live music tomorrow and Thursday nights. We might just go back for one or both of these nights. The food and atmosphere were just great!

Tomorrow our family group grows again. Trey, Clarence and Joan ‘s son, will be joining us and staying through the 30th. I cannot wait to see him and I’m so grateful he’s coming all this way to be here with us!

Only 8 days of walking and 9 days till the finish line. With my dad’s passing, it has been decided that he will cross the finish line with me. Lois will walk beside me for the last half mile and I will carry him.
