DAY 52 ~ 11/5/21

Paige and I had a great day together. Was a perfect day off!! She booked the Holiday Inn & Suites to stay because she knows how much I love their cinnamon rolls for breakfast!! We had a lazy slow morning and then heading 45 miles south to Little Rock. We had a delicious breakfast at a neat spot downtown called Red Door.

We then proceeded to The Clinton Presidential Library & Museum. It required our vaccination cards which were in the hotel so believe it or not we drove back 45 miles to get them and then came back. That still left us two hours in the museum which was plenty of time. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous with trees and landscaping. The exhibits were well done as well. They had a replica of the cabinet room and the oval office.

We had dinner afterwards in the restaurant there on the grounds called 42 bar and table. The food was amazing. They serve a chicken pot pie that was Bill Clinton’s mothers recipe. We didn’t try it because weI presumed that all of the menu items have some significance to the family.

When we were in the gift shop several women asked if we needed help and then asked where we were from. When we said Wisconsin they asked if we drove out flew here. What a perfect segue to tell my story. I didn’t realize it at the time but some of the proceeds to the gift shop go to the Clinton foundation. When one of the women heard the story, Connie, she wanted my information to connect with the PR department to see if there was anything they could do. Turns out she’s known the Clintons for 45 years and told us stories about being in the White House visiting them. How cool is that?!? We’ll see what develops from this connection.
