DAY 20 ~ 10/4/21

Today was my mothers birthday. She would have been 89. It was an extra special day walking in her honor!!!

I walked a total of 14.8 miles today. Joan joined me for the first morning section which was 10.7 miles ending at a restaurant called Khaki Jack’s. Clarence and Paige joined us for lunch. It’s an Australian sandwich shop and was really, really good. I continued on after lunch for another 3.7 miles meeting up with WMBD TV for the interview. The reporter choked up a few times hearing my story. We hugged at the end. It was a very connecting interview and experience. I’ll have a link to the story and news clip tomorrow.

Clarence and Joan saw the news story on the 5 o’clock news. We’re going to catch it in an hour on the 9 o’clock news.

Paige and I had the evening on our own. We went to an Irish Pub in Peoria on the river walk. Then we went for a drive crossing the bridge in the above photo then coming back on another bridge. So fun!! And so wonderful having her here!! Gonna be hard to say goodbye tomorrow!!
