DAY 15 ~ 9/29/21

Once out of Sterling /Rock Falls, we spent all day on a busy two lane highway (IL-40). Lots of waves from the cars and trucks helped carry us through the day. A farmer crossing the street to his mailbox asked if we needed water. That was sweet of him. Joan and I walked a total of 17.2 miles today, 12.8 before lunch and 4.5 after. It was a hot 88 degrees today. It was hard mostly because or the heat. Feeling good physically otherwise.

Many of you know I had a severe allergic reaction from a yellow jacket sting last year which welled up into a huge blister. I got another bite late summer this year that started doing the same thing so I went to urgent care right away and got a prescription for prednisone (thanks to the advice from my good tennis friend who is a doctor Jeanne), as well as the allergic reaction blister cut off. Well last night I got bit by a gnat and guess what? Again the allergic reaction blister started forming this afternoon! Jeez Louise!! I can’t go outside without being covered with a net or lathered in deet! I still had some prednisone so took one of those. Then decided to pop the blister, drain the fluid and cover with anti biotic ointment and a sterile pad. Let’s hope it works!!!

I cooked for us tonight. I made my roasted veggies, potatoes and poached lemon pepper salmon. It was delicious!!
