DAY 95 ~ 12/18/21
With this being the first of two half days, Joan and I walked a total of 8.2 miles today. We were aiming for 9 1/2 miles but the thunderstorm we were in was producing lightning which compelled Clarence and Greg to pick us up a little early. We were so glad they did because it just down poured shortly after they got us.
We went straight to a breakfast spot. They had hashbrowns. I was purring.
We didn't notice but during our walk we turned too soon. As luck would have it, there was a Behrens Road and a Behrens Street on our route today. We needed to wait for the Behrens Street. It cost us a little over a half mile as we had to backtrack.
A man in a pick up truck pulling a trailer stopped and asked if we were exercising or needed a ride. His accent was hard to understand and I didn’t recognize it as being from any particular country. His spirit was so jovial and was smiling ear to ear.
Greg and I ate at a spot for dinner called Texas Traditions. We shared an awesome plate of nachos.
Tomorrow we will walk the other half of our route in the morning, then go explore Houston. I’m so excited to see it!! Hop on hop off here we come.
I worked the rest of the afternoon before Greg picked me up for dinner. Joan cleaned the RV while I worked. She is such an Angel!!
Paige and Ruben made their first leg of the journey to me. One step closer. I am so missing them and cannot wait for them to get here. Two more days!!!
