DAY 92 ~ 12/15/21
Joan and I walked a total of 15.2 miles today. Greg joined in for 3.2 miles this afternoon. We both absolutely love having him along! He’s been such a blessing being here during this difficult time.
All of today was on a busy 2 Lane Highway with no shoulder. The speed limit was only 45 mph but people were doing 55 at least and there was lots of traffic. Fortunately the drivers moved over when they could and we had a place to step off the road when they couldn’t. The first two miles was under construction. All part of the adventure. We actually got through it like pros!
Not much activity today other than a sweet man in a truck stopping to see if we needed a ride. I told him we were on a pilgrimage walk and he then asked us if we needed water. Joan was actually out and graciously said yes. He quickly handed over two ice cold bottles of water. There is such wonderful kindness in this world!
There were a few dogs that we passed. There was one absolutely adorable puppy in a yard with several other dogs, but I was in love with the puppy. I snapped a cute photo of him. The other was a yard with eight Chihuahuas. Yup!! There were eight of them!! I got a good picture of that as well. They definitely had a cacophony of barking but they were an adorable sight!
The four of us went out to dinner at Tressies. It was delicious and fun to get out all together. The previous two nights Greg and I have had dinner together alone which has been absolutely precious family time!!
I’m pushing forward step by step. Week 13 is the the history books. Only two weeks left. Thirteen days of walking. So hard to believe I’ve been at this over three months!!! I’m more bound and determined than ever since my dad’s passing. Heels are hanging in there. Feet feel tired at the end of the day but with some rest they recover. I can see the finish line!!
